David Cowardly Cameron - Is He Man Or Mickey Mouse?

David 'Cowardly' Cameron
Is he a Man or a Mickey Mouse?

Why won't the Prime Minister, David Cameron commit to holding the series of live leadership debates that were held at the last general election? If Gordon Brown with all the problems he had wasn't scared to hold them, why should David Cameron be any different and try to cry off like a yellow livered coward?

What exactly is Cameron so afraid of? These debates are strongly in the public interest and we have a right to see how someone behaves under pressure especially if that someone asking to become our prime minister! If Cameron is too afraid to hold these debates and too afraid of speaking live on TV and to answer live unscripted questions straight from members of the public and his adversaries then it is simple, he should not be prime minister and he has no business asking for our trust, he doesn't deserve it!

Ed Miliband is not afraid to do it,  he regularly puts himself in the position to speak to real people and answer their real questions, he has proved this many times by talking to real people in our streets, markets, shops and factories! If Miliband can do it, then so should Cameron and Clegg!

Reverse up to pre election 2010 and ask yourselves what would David Cameron and his mates in the
First Televised Live Leadership Debates
2010 General Election
(Granted Permission By Gordon Brown)
rightwing press have called Gordon Brown if he had declined to hold the debates? Could you imagine the furore that this would have caused? The then Labour government and PM Mr Brown would never have heard the last of it if they had refused, they would have been subjected to a torrent of abuse from the rightwing Tory supporting press and had it rained down on them on a daily basis. They would never have been allowed to forget it for a moment, and yet now when Cameron will not commit to holding these debates there is complete silence in the press - why? Perhaps the press are just as much yellow livered cowards as David Cameron is and do not want to be shown up to have been perpetuating a myth and serious untruths and deliberately misleading the public about Ed Miliband for months? If they have nothing to fear and they think this is untrue, then why the silence?

Why is the rightwing press like the Telegraph, Times (even the Guardian), the Sun, Mail, Express, Star & Evening Standard so quiet on this subject? Theresa May's 'cat' got their collective tongues?

The newspapers are strangely mute on the subjects of this faux recovery that benefits only those in the South, and the looming housing and credit bubbles that Tory chancellor George Osborne is creating as a diversion to his wasted three years. They are totally silent about all the unnecessary pain and suffering Osborne has caused and will be causing in the future and quiet  about anything else even slightly controversial concerning the Conservative party yet these so-called 'news'papers do not hold back when it comes to insulting Ed Miliband, if there is little or nothing bad to report about him, then they will just make something up - despicable journalist runts of the parasitic kind! However, if they really think that Ed Miliband is that bad then surely they should put their pens to where their notepads are and start having the courage of their own convictions and begin asking and encouraging their "hero" David Cameron to give a date on when he is going to hold these live TV debates. But all we getting is this odd strangulated hush hovering over them. I wonder, are they quiet because they want to be, or are they being deliberately kept quiet?

Why isn't ITV, the BBC, Ch 4 and Sky News not asking this question of the prime minister? I know of only one journalist and presenter with any balls who has been asking this question and that's Sky News's Adam Boulton, I may not like his politics but at least he is trying! But so far absolute silence on any progress, especially from BBC journalist the great Tory sniveller himself Nick Robinson, the antithesis to the truth and honest reporting. Two words describe Nick Robinson "Tory" and "biased"! He calls himself a political correspondent (big laughs), he's no good to man nor beast and about as exciting as watching proverbial paint dry!

In answer to a point made by former London Mayor, Ken Livingstone about the leadership debates this morning on Sky News, Dermot Murnaghan said that Cameron didn't want to hold the debates because he was worried about Nigel Farage, well he might be (he's scared of anyone who will show him up for the liar and coward he actually is) however, Cameron is much more worried about going up against Ed Miliband in these live debates and so is his poodle Liberal Democrat the so called Deputy Prime Minister. Remember Nick Clegg is the DPM who once famously forgot he was supposed to run the country in the PMs absence shortly before he flying out of the country to go on holiday himself leaving it unattended (the London riots followed!) Imagine if a Labour DPM had done this? Whoosh the newsstands would be on fire with a tirade of abuse, but apparently it's OK for the Tories, because well they are - Tories!

George Osborne "master strategist" (apparently) has said these leadership debates would be held over his dead body,  so here we have yet another coward, because of course if the leadership debates were to go ahead, we would also hold the 'chancellor debates' and we all know that Gideon is scared of coming up against Labour shadow chancellor Ed Balls, and there is no way Osborne wants to answer questions on why he ruined the economy and deliberately choked off the economic recovery for three years, so he could make it look like it was him that saved the day! (That's 3 years of hell he has put people through for his own selfish greedy political ambitions by the way) I hear his knees are sore from constantly praying that this faux recovery lasts until after the 2015 election!

David Cameron enjoying his fourth Holiday
of the year
Hardships? What Hardships?
In another show of complete cowardice, Cameron has also said if he decides to hold these debates then he will hold them months before the election and not in the weeks leading up to the election. I know Cameron is not renown for being very bright, and we all know he can't do detail and struggles to answer the simplest of questions which require a degree of the truth, but months ahead really? He doesn't think this will play directly into the hands of the Labour leader then? That decision is thwart with dangers and I'm not going to tell Cameron why either, let him try and work it out for himself!

So who will be the first newspaper to break ranks, stop showing such Tory bias cowardice and tackle the prime minister about these live leadership debates? Come on time is getting, schedules have to be planned as well you know!

Labour Conference 2013 Brighton

I have watched the leader of the Labour party, Ed Miliband carry out an impromptu street appearance In Brighton on Sky News as he arrived for the start of the Labour party conference. If there was any "residue" from his last public appearance when he was egged by an idiot in London's East Street market, then it didn't show here and he looked not the slightest bit bothered. In fact at the time of the egging a few weeks ago he 'yoked' and laughed with Sky's Jon Craig  and asked; "did you throw that"?

After Ed Miliband spoke, he took questions from the crowd mainly from ordinary shoppers who surprised to see him in their street had stopped to watch and listen to him. Unlike David Cameron at his "Cameron Direct" sessions  Mr Miliband did not know what questions he was going to be asked and again unlike Cameron,  he hadn't been briefed and supplied with stat answers!  He calmly and adroitly dealt with the questions as they came. Taking questions publicly is a political minefield for any politician because as we all know members of the public can be pretty unpredictable - and quite right too! I suspect that no matter how awkward the questions get, Ed miliband wouldn't have it any other way.

A member of the public asked if he thought Tony Blair was a war criminal (strong stuff). However he didn't balk and gave a straight and honest answer. He said he didn't think Blair was a war criminal and that he thought Tony Blair had made the decision in good faith, but he still believed it to be the wrong decision  and we shouldn't have gone to war in Iraq and that Labour had had to learn the lessons of Iraq which they have done, which is why he refused to back David Cameron's decision to launch military action in Syria.

He dealt with a question from a homeless person which was pretty incoherent thankfully TV crews had the decency not to televise her as she was obviously distressed. Ed picked up on this and immediately sent one of his workers to to talk to her and try to help her.

Ed Miliband does plenty of these impromptu street visits apparently, not that we would know as they mainly go unreported by a hostile right wing Tory supporting press hellbent on keeping the public from learning who the real Ed Miliband is.

The Tory supporting right wing press have an agenda and it is a simple one, they want to keep Ed Miliband and Labour out of government at any cost. It really would not matter if Ed and Labour were absolutely perfect, the right wing press would still find ways to tarnish them and they will use just about every dirty trick in the book and more besides to bring about their aims.

The Damian "McWho - the hell cares" is a classic example of this. As we know timing is everything in politics so perhaps someone can explain this:

  1. First the long awaited Brooks and Coulson trials are suddenly deferred until 28th October after the Tories annual conference, (supposedly on a legal matter).
  2. Then the Daily Mail fills the void made by the absence of the Brooks and Coulson trials with the Damian McWho the hell cares book (which has obviously been specifically timed to be released at the beginning of the conference season).
If I wasn't such an old cynic I would be wondering if the Tories Aussie attack dingo Lynton Crosby had not persuaded his master, PM David Cameron and the Attorney General Dominic Grieve QC MP (Conservative) to have a little word in the shell like of the judge conducting the Brooks/Coulson trials to see if a postponement could be arranged.

I sincerely hope not because if this were to turn out to be true this would be serious!

Andy Coulson the PM's former aide is charged with several charges, amongst them two charges of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office. Makes the Damian McWho the hell cares spat between testosterone alpha males and their daft infantile power struggles look positively benign!

I wonder how long it will be before we all learn about what Lynton Crosby has been up to behind the scenes? Influencing and benefitting government policy on tobacco packaging? Alcohol pricing? Private healthcare contracts? Fracking? And the latest, the connection between one of Crosby's clients and Syrian rebels? (Whom of which the British government have spoken about arming -  truly scary corrupt stuff).

The right wing press and the Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties have vested interests in keeping the public from getting to know the real Ed Miliband, so they smear him and negatively spin against him at every opportunity.
For Cameron and Clegg it's political and for the newspapers it's because they do not want to lose any of their power, they are terrified that if Ed Miliband became PM he would implement the Leveson recommendations in full, and after the despicable behaviour of the Sun and Daily Mail in particular, if Ed does become PM, I sincerely hope he does implement Leveson it will serve them right!

The mad and bad ranting behaviour of these two papers over Syria was absolutely loathsome, anyone would think that Ed Miliband was some mad axe murderer, not a decent man/politician who had learned the lessons of Iraq and actually listened to the will of the people and managed to pull the PM David Cameron back from the brink of bombing innocent Syrians and thus preventing Cameron from making the biggest mistake of his political career, and God knows the prime minister has made some real howlers! Cameron should be thanking Ed Miliband not insulting him.

Because of Ed Miliband President Obama was also forced back from the brink, this has led to what looks like a diplomatic solution in Syria brokered by the Russians and quite possibly a ceasefire in the civil war destroying Syria. If Cameron and Obama had got the permission they sought to bomb Syria, then none of this would have happened.
Yet the Sun, Mail, Telegraph etc have totally ignored this fact! All Ed Miliband has got for his troubles is lied about, defamed, bullied and insulted in the most despicable way by these papers and the British PM and staff at Downing Street. The language emanating from Downing Street because Camerons lost the vote was truly shaming and an embarrassment to this country and totally unprofessional and unstatesmanlike.

Now Labour are starting to show their hand with some excellent policies, the hated Tory bedroom tax is to be scrapped and working families with young children will get extra child care they desperately need and zero hour contracts to be outlawed Slowly we are seeing the start of Labour policies for the next election and it looks like the Labour manifesto is shaping up to be a pretty decent piece of kit for the ordinary person on the street. It is clearly showing how people will be better off under Labour.

It's obvious who and what Labour stands for they stand for fairness and decency in all walks of life- "One Nation"

"Much [Union] Ado About Nothing"!

Dear Ed,

I am one of your staunchest supporters I am Labour through and through. "I get" what you are about and what you want to do with the Labour party. I understand how angry you are that Falkirk has caused such problems, but Ed, as I understand it the report that Labour commissioned has cleared Karie Murphy and has cleared the union of wrongdoing, if this is so and it is how it is being reported then shouldn't you apologise? I have no idea if we are being told the truth we all know how Tory and coalition biased the press and the broadcast media actually is, however, if you were my son I would advise you to apologise for any distress that has been caused. What a wonderful example you would set in our so degraded politics there is no shame in admitting when we have got it wrong and for showing when we do get it wrong then we should apologise for doing so, apologising when you are wrong is as natural as being happy when you are right. I may have misunderstood the situation but if I have, then I am not the only one and we need an explanation and then the whole issue needs to be put to bed.

It is not only for Labour that this this issue needs to be put to bed, more importantly it is for the millions of people who are being so badly affected by this Tory led government's policies, their lives are being catastrophically affected so please draw a line under it. There are thousands of Labour foot soldiers that give their all for this party to help elect you, we want to concentrate on exposing the Tories for the sham heartless incompetent government they are, we want to work to get you into Number 10, please do not let us down.

I believe this whole issue was deliberately whipped up by the press specifically to cause trouble for you, the unions, and Labour as we headed into the summer recess, especially by the Guardian, who seem to be running a personal vendetta against you. In the end there was no case to answer for the unions it was as I always suspected a storm in a teacup. The police found this and so did the Labour inquiry. I do fully understand why you called in the police with Cameron being such an arrogant, duplicitous bullying liar he would never have accepted that an internal Labour inquiry cleared the unions of wrongdoing, he would have dined out on it for years right up until the next election, however, he now has to accept the official police verdict. Hopefully Ed, you will now turn the tables on him and expose every last dodgy deal about how his Conservative party is funded and who by - people really need to know what kind of government this really is!

Let me reassure you that the vast majority of people seem to be more worried about the Tory corruption and the fact that they are being funded by hedge funds, banks and big business and private health companies etc. You were right to expose the appalling judgement of David Cameron in hiring Lynton Crosby, who now appears to have connections with rebel fighters in Syria, amid his other dubious connections to the tobacco and drinks industries and private health care and fracking. While this union "Much Ado About Nothing" is continuing, to use F1 terminology, Cameron is getting a free tow, time to shake him off and run him and the Tory party into the gravel where they belong. Lord knows it's hard enough to get Labour's message across in the right wing press as it is so we definitely don't need this further distraction. The right wing press love it that they do not have to report on who really funds the Conservative party and the fact that the Tories charge £25,000 to eat lunch with the prime minister and all the rest of it.

By and large people accept that the unions are above board and transparent. We must reform the Labour party to keep Labour alive for now and the years ahead, I understand this but we still have to fight the real "enemy" so please do not cut off the public from the only very small say they have through Labour and the unions, find a way to make it easier for them to contact the unions and the Labour party alike, even for people who do not vote Labour but still need our help let's include all people in our reformation. Let's make our Labour the party to "go to" for political representation etc.

You have a rare gift, in person you connect with people, they appreciate your frankness and your willingness to engage with them, even though they may be broaching subjects that are tricky where many other politicians run from, you do not walk away you stay and talk and explain. Now is the time to do this with the unions. They want to help together reformed Labour and the unions could become a formidable power of good for ordinary people.

Please bury the hatchet this coming week and let's all "unite" and get on with defeating the Tories after all they really are the real enemy! They are the enemy of the young, the elderly, poor, the sick, the low waged, the unemployed, the disabled and the vulnerable. They are heartless, they are privatising our NHS and causing it huge problems, they are privatising our education system, and privatising Royal Mail too, even our police and fire services are under attack from them. People are desperate and are looking to you to take the fight to the Tories and help to expose them and inform people what is really going on. This government is one of the most right wing business obsessed government's in the history of this country. They are using divide and rule and are terrorising people in their own homes through the bedroom tax, the disabled through Atos, the unemployed through forcing people to work for nothing, this all needs exposing and it is down to Labour to expose it, people feel they are being abused and ignored. The right wing press are not exposing the trauma this government are causing to good decent people they are helping to cover what is really happening and covering up how badly the Tories are actually damaging this country. Let's together take the fight to the Tories door, not to the door of the unions. Be progressive, be reforming, yes of course we must to survive! But don't forget people really need to feel that you and Labour are on their side, that someone in Westminster is really listening to them and that the ordinary people have a voice - *yours*!

You stuck your head above the parapet over the banks, bankers bonuses, the hacking scandal, you stood up to Rupert Murdoch, you fought to get the Leveson recommendations implemented when all Cameron wants to do is kick them into the long grass. You stood up and almost single handed stopped imminent air strikes in Syria when there was no evidence to attack, it was you that managed to halt the the US, people felt that you listened to them and acted accordingly. You stood up to the press in this country and you went against the grain, we know and can clearly see that you are now paying the price for that.

They call you weak and unprincipled, but anyone that has stood up to the press, the banks and Murdoch empire is not unprincipled and is certainly not weak. Any leader who is standing up and willing to reform their party to do what is right cannot  be called weak and unprincipled, but we need to do this together and some of our lost voters need to feel able to come back in from the cold, in fact I know many who are desperately wanting to. We're stronger together.

Let's sort it Ed.

Sincerely Gracie
